RESCUE 1

This is our brand new main extrication truck, RESCUE 1! The county bought the truck and the great citizens of Putnam County paid for the equipment that is on the truck through their generous donations during our fund raiser. This rig is one we can be proud of and one that will save many lives in this area.
Our previous truck(502) is now renamed RESCUE 3, it will be moved to the Baxter sub station and cover the western end of the county.
RESCUE 1 is a Ford chassis with a diesel Cat engine and a custom built walk-in box. The inside of the box is equipped as an on-scene command post. It has A/C and heat, first aid and medical supplies, radios and map desk, and an area for coolers and other refreshments.
The exterior has a Tomar lightbar and strobe package. An arrow stick is mounted above the rear doors. Four 1500 watt lights are on each corner of the box(the rear two are removable)for night scenes. The front bumper contains a winch and extra storage for chains and rope. The two small compartments above the rear tires contain an air bottle and fire extinguisher.
Inside the cab is a push-button shifter, dual sirens, and air horn. The PTO that runs our generator is also controlled from the cab.
The box has roll up doors with slide out tool compartments. The left rear compartment houses a full set of Phoenix rescue tools and their hydraulic pump. The tools are a small and large telescoping ram, a spreader with built in cutter, and a cutter. The pump can handle two tools at once and are connected to the two electric cord reels. The compartment above the tire holds a ladder and heavy duty jacks. The compartment to the right of the wheel hold our air bags and air bag controllers. These can be aired up by the onboard compressor connected to a 50 foot hose reel or an SCBA tank. The compartment behind the cab contains all our hand tools. It also houses a stokes basket and backboards. The compartments on the other side of the truck house our cribbing and wedges, backup hydraulic pump, extra lighting and portable generator, and our fuse box.
I'll have more detailed tool and truck specs later on.
