
This Volvo plowed head-first into a concrete barrier This first picture shows the seriousness of the impact and the close quarters we had to work in.

You can see how far the barrier pushed itself into the car. It pushed the engine into the passenger side of the passenger compartment.

This last picture shows that the A and B posts were cut and the roof was flapped. Duct tape was used on the posts to cover the sharp edges and protect rescuers and the patient. The driver was then removed straight out the top. The driver was seriously injured but lived. This wreck was a joint rescue between the Smith County and Putnam County rescue squads.
